Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) held an information session on the Admissions Officer System on the 16th, inviting parents and students to campus to support the system's stable establishment and development.
About 100 students and parents interested in the Admissions Officer System attended the event. A variety of programs were presented to help participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the system.
First, Mi-hyang Choi, Full-Time Admissions Officer, gave a presentation titled "Understanding the Admissions Officer Selection." Lee Young-gyu, a career and college counseling teacher at Gunsan Dong High School, and Jang Jin-ho, a career and college counseling teacher at Gimje Girls' High School, presented "Guidance Case Studies for Successful Applicants under the Admissions Officer Selection," which received a strong response.
The program continued with presentations of successful applicant cases by freshmen admitted to JBNU through the Admissions Officer Selection this year, which captured attendees' attention. In particular, Kim Kyung-chae, who entered the Department of Nursing through the 'Keun-saram' admissions track, said during the presentation, "I focused on activities and competitions held within the school rather than outside it," and advised, "Building a consistent set of experiences related to the department you wish to enter is more important than grand credentials."
Han Sang-eon, Vice-President of the Office of Admission, said, "The Admissions Officer Selection is an advanced admissions process that does not select students solely on College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scores but comprehensively evaluates creativity, character, values, potential, and other factors beyond academic grades," and added, "We continue to provide full support after admission so that students admitted to JBNU through the Admissions Officer Selection can achieve their grand ambitions."
