“Let’s share warm sentiments with foreign families to celebrate the Lunar New Year.”

Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) held the ‘Lunar New Year Event for JBNU Foreign Families’ at the Geunji Art Hall, Samsung Arts Center, from 2:00 p.m. on February 7.

This event, held annually since 2003, invites foreign members currently enrolled or employed at JBNU to share our traditional culture and to promote fellowship among the foreign community.

On the day, President Seo Geoseok and about 200 foreign family members attended. A fusion performance of Korean traditional music was presented, followed by folk games, quiz contests, and a talent show featuring participation by foreign members, creating an enjoyable time for all.

President Seo Geoseok said, “We hold this event every year so that foreign families can personally experience the Lunar New Year, Korea’s most important holiday, and share the warmth of Korea.” He added, “Although this is a holiday spent away from their home countries, I hope foreign families will come together and celebrate the holiday with joy.”
