Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Law School was found to be excellent among universities nationwide in terms of curriculum suitability and related areas.
Recently, the Korean Bar Association Law School Evaluation Committee awarded it 'accreditation' in the first law school evaluation conducted for 25 law schools nationwide. The accreditation period is five years.
According to the Korean Bar Association Law School Evaluation Committee, the evaluation covered 29 detailed assessment items across eight areas — curriculum, faculty, facilities, financial support, and so on — for the three-year period from 2009 to 2011 when the first cohort of law school students were enrolled.
In this evaluation, JBNU received satisfactory assessments in the majority of items and, in particular, received excellent evaluations for 'the appropriateness and thoroughness of required practical courses' and for 'the provision of essential basic facilities'.
Also, JBNU demonstrated a relatively high employment rate among law schools nationwide. Of the 56 students from JBNU who passed last year's first bar examination, 44 (78.6%) obtained employment. By employment destination, 2 joined the courts, 1 became a prosecutor, 37 joined law firms and legal offices, 11 entered government agencies, and 5 joined public enterprises. The quality of employment was also found to be very high.
