Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has agreed to collaborate with Dongbu Farmseres Co., Ltd. (CEO Yang Jun-il), one of the world’s top three companies in the field of natural enemy insects, to advance research and development in the applied biological industry.

To this end, the two institutions held a signing ceremony on January 16 at 3:00 PM in the Meeting Room on the 8th floor of the Headquarters, attended by President Seo Geoseok, CEO Yang Jun-il, and other key officials from both organizations.

This agreement is intended to explore development in the applied biological industry, including pest and disease control. It brings together JBNU, which has the nation’s leading research capabilities in applied biological and agricultural life sciences, and Dongbu Farmseres, which is leading the domestic biological control market with natural enemy insects.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will conduct collaborative research in pest and disease control technologies and jointly develop new technologies related to the insect industry, such as insects for animal feed.

In particular, they agreed to establish a desirable Industry-University Cooperation model through faculty and student field participation, and to implement commissioned training and co-taught courses.

President Seo Geoseok said, "We are very pleased to sign our first agreement of the new year with Dongbu Farmseres, the world’s leading company in the field of natural enemy insects and the biological control market. Through this agreement, I hope the two institutions will achieve a win-win outcome and that more of JBNU's outstanding talents will enter related fields."
