Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) received the highest rating in the Industry–University–Government Coupling Project evaluation conducted by Jeollabuk-do for all three project groups: Management, Advanced Components and Materials, and Arts Management.

Accordingly, JBNU will receive annual project funding of KRW 400 million from Jeollabuk-do, enabling it to further focus on tailored training of specialized personnel required by industry.

The Jeollabuk-do Industry–University–Government Coupling Project is a program in which Jeollabuk-do, universities, and companies establish an industry–university–government cooperative system to supply tailored specialized personnel to local companies. Its aim is to resolve youth unemployment and job mismatches between employers and job seekers, support youth employment, and enhance corporate competitiveness.

The program was first implemented in 2007 for science and engineering fields. Since last year, it has been expanded to include the humanities, social sciences, and arts and physical education fields, which have relatively limited employment opportunities.

Professor Kyungsoo Park (Department of Business Administration), head of the Management Industry–University–Government Coupling Project Group, said, 'It seems that our project's tailored management professional training programs have been well evaluated. We will make every effort to resolve students' employment concerns by strengthening not only theoretical education but also students' character education and employability.'
