"I will become a competent childcare teacher who nurtures young children's potential."
The Childcare Teacher Training Center affiliated with Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) produced 145 childcare teachers who completed the 2012 academic-year childcare teacher training program.
JBNU held a completion ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on January 11 in the Audiovisual Room of the College of Human Ecology and congratulated those taking their first steps as childcare teachers.
The ceremony, which proceeded with the national ceremonial observance and an academic report, awarded certificates of completion to 98 daytime students and 47 evening students. In addition, Kim Kyung-ok and Jung Mi-hyang received the President's Award for outstanding academic performance, while Kim Yoon-jung and Byun Soon-ja received the Director's Award. Awards for diligence and merit were also presented.
Vice-President Jeong Hang-geun said, "The JBNU-affiliated Childcare Teacher Training Center is one of the most active institutions providing education to local residents and has made a significant contribution to the development of childcare in the country," adding, "I hope that today's completion of the program will serve as an opportunity to open a hopeful future as competitive and professional childcare teachers."
Meanwhile, the JBNU-affiliated Childcare Teacher Training Center has been operating since it was authorized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 1993 and has produced approximately 100–200 childcare teachers each year to date.
