At Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), Professor Ham Un-cheol (57, College of Engineering, Division of Electronic Engineering) was appointed Director of the Information and Computing Center, and Professor Lee Tae-young (57, College of Humanities, Department of Korean Language & Literature) was appointed Museum Director.
President Seo Geo-seok presented letters of appointment to the newly appointed administrative faculty members at 9:00 a.m. on the 3rd and requested that they carry out productive two-year terms.
The new Director of the Information and Computing Center, Ham Un-cheol, graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Electronic Engineering and received his master's and doctoral degrees from the same institution. He has served as a professor at JBNU since 1982. He has held positions including Chair of the Division of Electronic Engineering, Director of the Center for Advanced Image and Information Technology at the Engineering Research Institute, and Director of the Center for University wide Research Facilities, among other posts.
The new Museum Director, Lee Tae-young, graduated from JBNU's Department of Korean Language & Literature and received his master's and doctoral degrees from the same graduate school. He has served as a professor at JBNU since 1989. He has held positions including Chair of the Department of Korean Language & Literature, Associate Dean of the College of Humanities, and Director of the Korean Language Education Center, and has served as a member of the Korean Language Deliberation Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
