Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has signed an agreement with the Jeonbuk Intellectual Property Center of the Jeonju Chamber of Commerce and Industry to secure outstanding patents and cultivate excellent personnel for technology startups.

Accordingly, the Industry-University Cooperation and the Jeonbuk Intellectual Property Center held a signing ceremony on December 27 at 2:00 PM, attended by Cho Nam-pyo, Vice-President of Industry-University Cooperation, Baek Seung-man, Director of the Jeonbuk Intellectual Property Center, and other officials from both organizations.

This agreement aims to share the excellent know-how held by both organizations and to establish an effective collaborative working system.

Under the agreement, both organizations will exchange know-how on intellectual property rights management and support students' on-site practical training related to the training and recruitment of patent personnel.

They also agreed to pursue joint projects on intellectual property education and to collaborate in identifying and nurturing young technology entrepreneurs.

In particular, the Jeonbuk Intellectual Property Center plans to provide students with instruction on intellectual property rights, brand and design utilization strategies for startups, and outstanding cases of entrepreneurial success at the JBNU Startup Camp to be held in January–February next year.

Cho Nam-pyo, Vice-President of Industry-University Cooperation, said, "Given the heightened societal interest in intellectual property rights, patents, and student entrepreneurship, this agreement is highly timely and is expected to be of great help to students," adding, "Let us actively share the excellent know-how possessed by both organizations and work to make this support more practical and beneficial to students."
