Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) announced that, as of 6:00 p.m. on December 26, the application period for the 2013 regular admissions closed, with 9,860 applicants for 2,617 openings, resulting in a competition ratio of 3.8 to 1, the same as last year.
By admissions unit, in the 'Ga' regular admissions group there were 4,700 applicants for 1,275 openings, a 3.7 to 1 competition ratio. In the 'Na' regular admissions group, under the general admissions track, there were 5,128 applicants for 1,295 openings, a 4 to 1 competition ratio.
In addition, the special admissions for employed graduates of specialized high schools, newly offered this year in the 'Na' regular admissions group, attracted 23 applicants for 30 openings, a 0.8 to 1 ratio. The 'Na' group special education candidate track received 9 applicants for 17 openings, a 0.5 to 1 ratio.
The most competitive department in the 'Ga' regular admissions group was the Department of Information Technology and Engineering, which received 140 applicants for 14 openings, a 10 to 1 ratio. In the 'Na' regular admissions group, the Department of Sport Science received 121 applicants for 15 openings, a high 8.07 to 1 ratio.
Meanwhile, the practical examinations for the arts and physical education divisions, held under the 'Na' regular admissions group, will begin at 9:00 a.m. on January 22 next year. Final successful candidates will be announced on JBNU's website at 2:00 p.m. on January 29.
