Professor Cheon-Gi Kim of the Department of Education will lead the Korean Society for the Sociology of Education.

Professor Kim was elected the 22nd President at the Korean Society for the Sociology of Education's winter conference and general meeting, which was recently held at Korea University, following members' endorsement.

Accordingly, Professor Kim plans to serve a two-year term through 2014 and take the lead in policy development and research activities related to education.

The Korean Society for the Sociology of Education was founded in April 1967 to contribute to the development of Korean education through scholarly research into the sociological foundations of education and the educational processes of society.
