Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) will dispatch the largest number in its history during the break to its overseas partner universities through the exchange student program "Global Leader Project (GLP)", which has sent about 700 students annually since 2008.

On December 21 at 3:00 PM, JBNU held a send-off ceremony and orientation for the winter Global Leader Project exchange students at Jinsudang Gain Hall. Park Yong-jin, Director of International Exchange, and approximately 200 participating students attended.

At the send-off, participants received an explanation of the Global Leader Project during the orientation. They shouted enthusiastic cheers and pledged to grow as global leaders.

A total of 212 students will be dispatched to overseas partner universities during this winter break. Following the university's selection last year for the Advancement of Undergraduate Education Leading University Development Project (ACE Project), support from the ACE Project Group was added from the second semester of this year, more than doubling the number of dispatched students compared with last year.

Students will stay for eight weeks at institutions such as the University of Central Lancashire (UK), De La Salle University (Philippines), the University of Manila, Cebu Medical University, and the University of the Visayas. There they will cultivate a global mindset and study language, and upon return will receive six credits.

The university will cover the partner universities' tuition and round-trip airfare for the students.

At the send-off, Park Yong-jin, Director of International Exchange, said, "The Global Leader Project is JBNU's largest, earliest-started national-scale program for cultivating global talent. I hope this becomes an opportunity to broaden your view of the world, continually challenge yourselves, and realize the grand dreams you hold in your hearts."
