“I hope this will help the younger students of my alma mater grow into outstanding contributors to society.”
Ahn Tae-seop, director of Changyoung Dental Clinic in Gyeongwon-dong, Jeonju (Class of '79, Dentistry), visited Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) on December 17 and donated KRW 100 million to support the university's development.
An, an alumnus of the first class of the College of Dentistry, said he wanted to contribute to his alma mater's development after hearing for several years that fellow alumni had been participating in a wave of scholarship donations for younger students.
An said, “As an alumnus of the first class of the College of Dentistry, I take great pride in seeing my alma mater recently grow into a university that represents Korea,” adding, “Although this is a small contribution, I would be most pleased if it is put to good use so that younger students can focus on their studies in a better environment.”
In response, President Seo Geoseok said, “Thanks to the strong support of our active alumni across the country, JBNU has been able to achieve remarkable development,” and added, “We deeply value this thoughtful gesture and will strive to ensure our students grow into leaders who will guide the Republic of Korea.”
