JBNU-supported and -operated startup club won the Grand Prize at the nationwide "2012 Student Startup Championship" (subtitle: Campus Heroes), where leading industry–university cooperation universities competed.

The award winners were the startup club "만4ok," composed of students 이경하 (2nd-year, Department of Psychology), 김태윤 (2nd-year, Department of Psychology), 김현수 (3rd-year, Department of Psychology), 유원상 (2nd-year, Department of Electrical Engineering), and 최정준 (2nd-year, Department of Business Administration).

Hosted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and organized by the Korea Foundation for Young Entrepreneurial Spirit, the competition proceeded with one team participating from each of 61 Leaders in INdustry–University Cooperation universities nationwide. From May, teams completed mission-themed rounds six times to select the top teams.

In the first mission, themed "Find Your Own Entrepreneurial Mindset," the JBNU team adopted the entrepreneurial mindset "Be Different to Survive" and sold hot sweet potatoes themselves during the summer on Daehak-ro on the JBNU campus, documenting the activity on video.

For the common second mission, "Revitalization Plan for the Taean Mallipo Hwangto Festival," they conducted online activities via blogs and social media, held a photo contest at the Hwangto Festival, and presented a proposal to the Mallipo Tourism Association to launch a direct bus service from Jeonbuk to Mallipo to improve transportation convenience, which led to positive consideration.

Notably, for the third mission, "Revitalization Plan for the Busan Cinema Center," they designed a program encouraging visitors to film their own videos to create memories. They also carried out filmmaking activities with children in the Hanok Village and analyzed the actual effects of the program, receiving favorable evaluations.

이경하 said, "I am very pleased that the long hours the team invested in our efforts have led to such a good result. This competition has become a meaningful opportunity for those of us whose ultimate goal is to start businesses, and we will continue to strive to promote entrepreneurship."

President 서거석 congratulated the team, saying, "I offer my congratulations and thanks for raising the university's name through months of hard work," and added, "We will further support students so they can systematically prepare for startups and pursue creative activities."

Meanwhile, the award ceremony for the team was held on October 31, 2012, at COEX in Seoul during the Industry–University Cooperation Expo. The winners received the Minister's Award from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and were granted a special overseas entrepreneurial mindset exploration opportunity.
