Earlier, on October 25, a commemorative academic conference for the College’s 40th anniversary was held under the theme 'Human Ecology in the Era of Convergence,' adding further significance to the celebrations.

At the conference, Lee Jae-yeon, President of the Korea Youth Policy Institute, delivered a presentation titled 'The Era of Convergence: The Future of Human Ecology.' Ahn Young-il, CEO of Dream Challenge Group, spoke on 'In the Era of Convergence, What Life Will You Choose!,' and Kwon Hee-min, Advisor at Samsung Electronics, presented on 'The Global Era and Creativity.' Each presentation provided perspectives on the trends and vision of human ecology.

At the ceremony, Dean Yeom Hye-jeong of the College of Human Ecology said, 'Looking back, the College of Human Ecology could shine more brightly because of the faculty and alumni. I hope that the 40th anniversary will be an opportunity to celebrate the College’s distinguished history and to move forward vigorously toward a new future.'

In his congratulatory address, President Seo Geoseok stated, 'Since its founding as the starting point of home economics education in Korea, the College has developed into one of the most competitive colleges in terms of educational and research substance. I hope today's event will not only commemorate the College's past 40 years but also serve as an occasion to share and reaffirm the vision to be realized over the next 50 and 100 years.'

Meanwhile, the College of Human Ecology originated from the Department of Home Economics Education in the College of Education in 1972 and was elevated to a college in 1992.
