"The Reserved Officers' Training Corps is the pride of our university. Let us join forces to promote the development of our alma mater."
The Capital-area Reserved Officers' Training Corps Alumni Association visited the university on October 6 for an alma mater visit event and held a gathering to promote fellowship among alumni.
The event was attended by approximately 120 ROTC alumni, including retired General Jo Jae-to (alumnus, Class of '65, Department of Philosophy), Jeong Byeong-guk, President of the Reserved Officers' Training Corps Alumni Association, and Lee Sin-jae, Chairman of the Capital-area Alumni Association, as well as about 160 ROTC cadets. Attendees shared camaraderie between alumni and current students.
In particular, the ROTC alumni association established a fund of 10 million won for junior members and held a donation ceremony that day. The fund will be awarded as scholarships to ROTC candidates.
That day, the ROTC alumni held meetings with current students and shared strong bonds between seniors and juniors through athletic events.
In his remarks, retired General Jo Jae-to said, "It is very meaningful that former and current members of the ROTC, the pride of the university, could gather in one place and have a good time," and added, "I hope this event will serve as a starting point for ROTC alumni to unite their hearts in support of the development of our alma mater."
