Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) held a special Chuseok event for international families on campus and received a strong response.

JBNU held the 'Chuseok Event for International Families' at the Samsung Arts Center, Geonji Art Hall, from 3:30 PM on September 27, with President Seo Geoseok, headquarters officials, and approximately 200 members of foreign families in attendance.

Since 2003, the event has been held annually during the holidays to share the culture of Chuseok, Korea's traditional folk holiday, with international members and to strengthen their sense of belonging and ties as members of the university.

The event began with a seoljanggo performance to enliven the atmosphere. Participants enjoyed traditional games, a Chuseok-related quiz competition, and a talent show organized by foreign families.

Khagay Nadezhda (KHAGAY NADEZHDA·Kazakhstan), a student who attended the event, said, 'It was very meaningful to experience Korea's traditional culture firsthand and to socialize with other international friends for Chuseok. I think this will be an opportunity to develop greater interest in Korean culture while studying at JBNU.'

President Seo Geoseok said, 'With Chuseok, the nation's largest holiday, approaching, we organized this event so that foreign families could experience Korean culture and have an enjoyable time. Although their hometowns are far away, I hope they can ease their homesickness by socializing with other foreign families on campus.'
