“Students studying diligently amid the heat wave, please take a moment to cool off.”

Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) held an event to encourage students participating in its Summer Special Term program, which was organized to strengthen basic education despite the ongoing heat wave, and received a strong response from students.

President Seo Geoseok and other senior administrators visited the College of Natural Science on August 6 at 4:00 p.m. to hand out ice cream to students attending Summer Special Term classes and to offer words of encouragement.

Last year, JBNU was selected for the Ministry of Education's ACE Project (Undergraduate Education Advancement Leading Project) and has been working to strengthen basic education, including operating a four-term system for freshmen. JBNU has been conducting Summer Special Term classes on a one-month schedule from July 11 to August 10.

Students attending the Special Term classes despite the heat were surprised by President Seo Geoseok's unexpected visit, but accepted the ice cream and responded with thanks and smiles.

President Seo Geoseok said, “We organized this event to encourage the students who are participating enthusiastically in the Summer Special Term classes—implemented to strengthen basic education and enhance educational competitiveness—despite the hot weather. I applaud the students who are quietly studying for their future even as the heat wave persists day after day, and I believe today's efforts will surely bear great fruit.”
