The School of Dentistry has recently finalized the admissions procedures for the 2013 academic year early admissions and will select outstanding candidates.
The number of places is 40 for the master's program. By admission type, up to 30 applicants will be admitted through the general admission, up to 6 through the special admission for graduates (or prospective graduates) of universities in the Jeonbuk region, and up to 4 for high school graduates in the Jeonbuk region.
The application period is June 25 through June 28 and applications may be submitted via the Jinhak website (http://apply.jinhak.com). The successful candidates for the first-stage screening will be announced on July 13. In-depth interviews will be conducted on July 28, and final results will be announced on October 9.
Eligibility requires an average undergraduate score of 80 or higher across the entire bachelor's degree program and a combined standard score of at least 115 across two sections of this year’s Dental Education Entrance Test (DEET).
Applicants must also have nationally recognized Korean language certification and certified English test scores. For Korean, applicants must hold a certificate at levels 1–5 on the Test of Korean Language (TOKL) or a certificate at levels 1–4+ on the KBS Korean Language Test. For English, a minimum score of TOEFL CBT 220 (IBT 82, PBT 560) or TEPS 701 is required. However, for the special admission, applicants must have TOEFL CBT 230 (IBT 87, PBT 570) or TEPS 730 or higher.
In the first-stage screening, 30% is based on university academic records, 30% on certified English scores, and 10% on document review. In the second-stage screening, in-depth interviews account for 30%.
Applicants will be shortlisted in the first stage to three times the number of openings based on ranking, and final selection will be made through the second-stage in-depth interviews.
