Training outstanding professionals who integrate Hanok design and practical construction techniques.
The university has solidified its position as the nation's leading institution for training specialists in Hanok-related fields.
It was selected for the second consecutive year as a 'Hanok Design Professional Training Institution' supported by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, which will accelerate the training of specialists in the field.
Accordingly, the university's Hanok Architecture Technology Center (Director Nam Hae-kyung), established last year, will lead a six-month training program for licensed architects or individuals eligible to sit the architect licensing exam. The program will be offered in formats such as weekday evening classes and weekend full-day classes.
In particular, the center will also run linked training with the 'Timber Construction Professional Training Course' launched at the Gochang Campus, which received KRW 8.4 billion in support from the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.
Through this arrangement, the Hanok Architecture Technology Center will provide instruction in Hanok design, while the Gochang Campus will focus on Hanok construction techniques. The aim is to realize Hanok-related education that harmonizes design and function and to secure a distinctive leading position in the Hanok and timber construction fields.
Following this selection, the university will receive support from the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs to cover training costs. From June, it will offer a variety of Hanok design courses.
The curriculum will consist of regular design courses as well as special lectures by Hanok experts, field training, site visits, and other diverse, practical components.
