“We will strengthen the Industry–University Collaboration system so that admission leads directly to employment.”

Employment obviously requires continuous individual effort by students. However, how well a university discovers excellent systems and provides support is also recognized as a major factor determining students' success in finding employment.

In particular, regional universities have often faced narrow entry paths to large corporations because many companies have not fully recognized each institution's strengths.

To improve companies' perceptions of regional universities, our university has continuously held roundtable meetings inviting leading domestic companies, and the president and administrators have visited companies to promote the strengths of the university and its students. Now the university has launched a program in which the president, administrative officers, and faculty members, together with students, visit outstanding companies directly.

Accordingly, on May 2 at 1:30 PM, the university held the launching ceremony for the Company Visit Tour 'Gil' program in the third-floor conference room of Jinsudang. President Seo Geoseok, headquarters administrators, relevant faculty members, and about 30 students participating in the company visits attended the event.

That day, President Seo Geoseok, faculty, and students began by visiting Hyundai Heavy Industries' Gunsan Shipyard. They presented the university's strengths and held meaningful exchanges between company officials and students.

This program aims to foster friendly relationships between leading domestic companies and the university and to strengthen Industry–University Collaboration, with a focus on education that cultivates workplace-ready talent demanded by companies.

By visiting outstanding companies directly, President Seo Geoseok and students preparing for employment are expected to change companies' perceptions of the university. Students will also acquire practical information useful for securing corporate employment. This is expected to make a significant contribution to raising the employment rate.

President Seo Geoseok said, 'If companies previously came to universities to find talent, now we must go to companies to actively promote our outstanding talent and the true value of the university. Only then can we narrow the gap between university education and corporate demand. Through genuine Industry–University Collaboration, our students will have more opportunities to work creatively at more companies.'

He added, 'I expect that the Company Visit Tour 'Gil' we begin today will increase corporate preference for our university and lead not only to expanded field-training opportunities but also to improved employment rates. I hope that the subsequent company visits will produce substantial results and maintain close relationships with companies across the country.'
