Overseas universities' close exchanges generate synergies, contributing not only to inter-university development but also to expanded exchange between countries. The relationship between Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) and Paris-Est University in France, which has maintained close exchanges since 2007, proves this.

The two universities, which have sustained collaboration across various fields, have especially exchanged students in film production. They provide both theoretical and practical training so students can build professional expertise.

Through this collaboration, a feature-length documentary about Jeonju, produced by Professor Claire Alby of Paris-Est University and her students who visited Jeonju in 2010, was officially screened at the Jeonju International Film Festival on May 2, drawing significant attention.

In 2009, a video produced directly by JBNU students was screened at the Louvre Museum in France, the world's foremost museum, creating a strong response. The following year, Professor Claire Alby visited JBNU with her French students and produced the work that has now been screened at the Jeonju International Film Festival, demonstrating sustained, practical exchange. This is a representative example of how years of close inter-university exchange have led to tangible results.

The 52-minute feature titled 'Jeonju, a Korean Town' presents Jeonju as seen through the eyes of Professor Claire Alby. The film conveys Jeonju's unique beauty to the world by portraying the city's dynamism—preserving tradition while aspiring to be Asia's Hollywood—through three focal themes: the international film festival, the history of resistance during the Japanese colonial period, and the lives of women.

In addition, on April 26, President Francis Godard of Paris-Est University received an honorary doctoral degree in recognition of his contributions to the spread of Hallyu culture and to vigorous exchanges with JBNU. It is expected that this will lead not only to further exchange involving JBNU but also to broader engagement with Jeollabuk-do and, ultimately, to expanded international exchange.
