"'President's Gimbap'—Eat this and do well on the midterms."

Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), which had held snack-sharing events every year to encourage students at the start of the semester and during exam periods, this time continued its outreach by personally visiting students studying hard during the midterm exams to distribute snacks and offer encouragement.

President Seo Geo-seok, Vice-President Shin Hyo-geun, Dean of Student Affairs An Haeng-geun, other university administrators, the University Librarian, and students from the JBNU Student Council spent time on April 26 at 8:30 p.m. at the Learning Library, Central Library, and Iksan Campus handing out gimbap and milk to about 1,000 students wrestling with their books during the midterm period and encouraging them.

The event aimed to encourage students who visit the libraries and study hard for their future, to meet them in person to share warmth, and to listen to their difficulties. Students responded with grateful smiles to the unexpected visit by President Seo and the administrative faculty.

Seo Min-jeong, a second-year student in the Division of Electronic Engineering, said, “I was deeply moved to see the president and administrative faculty personally visit students every exam period. It provided great comfort and encouragement to students who are working to forge their own futures.”

Meanwhile, during the midterm exam period, JBNU keeps the libraries open 24 hours and operates late-night buses, among other measures, to ensure students can study in better conditions.
