Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has been selected by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family as the Honam regional hub university for the 2012 Women Students' Career Development Support Project.

Accordingly, JBNU will serve as the leader of Women Students' Career Development Centers in the Honam area, acting as a focal point for cooperation by hosting excellent project presentations, developing and sharing outstanding programs, and facilitating information exchange among universities in each region.

JBNU's selection—one of only four universities nationwide chosen for this support project—reflects its development of leading programs in the field of women students' career development and its solid performance in running programs that help female students advance to better opportunities.

In fact, JBNU operates 16 programs—the largest number in the country—open to all class years, with approximately 1,800 female students participating, and its very active efforts over the past three years have been evaluated as excellent by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

Accordingly, the Women Students' Career Development Center will soon hold the '2012 Jeolla Region Women Students' Career Development Centers Representative Project Presentation' to promote the activation of career development initiatives for women students through information exchange and network strengthening among centers in the region.

Kim Eun-hee, Director of the Women Students' Career Development Center, said, "Taking this selection as an opportunity, we will work to develop a range of programs for women students' career development and to strengthen their employment competencies through active exchanges among Women Students' Career Development Centers in the Jeolla region."
