Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has unified the Executive Programs that had been operated separately across its various professional graduate schools, bringing them under the direct administration of the University Headquarters. This is expected to significantly enhance the quality of education.

JBNU held the entrance ceremony for the 2012 Academic Year Executive Program on April 19, 2012, at 6:30 PM in Gain Hall on the first floor of Jinsudang. The ceremony was attended by President Seo Geoseok, university headquarters officials, and 65 Executive Program participants.

At the ceremony, Professor Choi Baek-ryeol, Chief Professor of the Executive Program, introduced the program and its participants. Following a representative pledge by Park Jae-gyun, Senior Branch Manager of Kookmin Bank, Jeonju Branch, university badges were presented to the participants.

Starting this year, JBNU has reorganized four dispersed Executive Training Programs under the University Headquarters to build an intellectual and dignified human network among the nation’s top leaders and to provide a forum for self-development through future-oriented educational content.

Through this reorganization, the University intends to upgrade the Executive Program and significantly enhance the quality of instruction in order to develop it into the nation’s preeminent program.

This year’s Executive Program, which includes 65 key domestic and international corporate leaders including Park Jae-gyun, Senior Branch Manager of Kookmin Bank, Jeonju Branch, is organized on an annual basis. The program runs in two halves, each comprising a 13-week academic schedule of lectures and special activities.

Course content ranges widely, from liberal arts lectures such as 'Strategies for National Development,' 'Understanding World Politics and Economics,' 'The Trajectory of the Korean Economy,' 'Understanding Literature and the Arts,' 'The Role of Information, Communications and the Media,' and 'Law and Everyday Life,' to cutting-edge specialized knowledge. The faculty consists of top domestic experts in each field.

President Seo Geoseok said, 'The Executive Program is a newly established curriculum created in response to changing times to enable our University to fulfill its role as a regional hub university.' He added, 'Through this Executive Program, we will do our utmost to support CEOs and senior policymakers who play a central role in regional development in acquiring necessary advanced knowledge and in building a network of distinguished contacts.'
