Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), widely regarded as having effectively realized half-price tuition this year through a substantial expansion of scholarship funding, held a meaningful event in which scholarship donors who contributed to the funds met the students who receive the scholarships in person.

The scholarship certificate presentation ceremony, held on April 10 at 3:00 PM in Jinsudang Paolo Hall, was attended by about 400 people, including President Seo Geo-seok, Vice-President Shin Hyo-geun, other university headquarters officials, scholarship donors, and scholarship recipients.

JBNU holds this event annually to honor the donors' noble philanthropic spirit, to give scholarship recipients the opportunity to meet donors in person and express their gratitude, and to lay the foundation for their growth into outstanding talents.

At the event, President Seo Geo-seok and the scholarship donors awarded scholarships totaling approximately KRW 240 million to 263 students and urged them to grow into leaders who will lead the world.

This year, JBNU plans to award scholarships totaling KRW 50 billion, an increase of KRW 14.6 billion from previous years. The university is taking the lead in establishing a culture of giving by annually cultivating new donors and sponsors in order to extend scholarship benefits to more students.

President Seo Geo-seok said, "Today is a meaningful time in which the scholarship donors who have shown boundless love for the development of JBNU and the students who receive those scholarships and are doing their best in their studies gather in one place to share encouragement and gratitude. Through events like this, we will work to spread a culture of giving so that more students can study in better environments and parents may be relieved of the burden of tuition amid difficult economic conditions."
