"Let's Cultivate a Green Campus Through Arbor Day Tree Planting."
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) held a tree-planting event on the 6th, around Arbor Day, with university members in attendance to beautify the campus.
Participants planted approximately 4,500 trees on vacant land west of the North Gate, including azaleas, nandina, Japanese snowbell, and cherry trees.
Each year, JBNU has planted different species across the campus to develop a nature-friendly campus and create an ecological park where nature thrives. Through these efforts, the university is becoming a campus that not only serves its members but also engages with local citizens.
The JBNU campus, which changes its appearance with each of the four seasons, continues to uphold its reputation as one of the most beautiful campuses in the country through the ongoing annual tree-planting activities.
On the day, Executive Vice-President Shin Hyo-geun said, "Every year the university plants thousands of new trees and opens the campus to citizens, creating an open ecological park where anyone can visit and rest," adding, "I hope the annual tree-planting continues to provide a valuable opportunity to experience the importance of nature and to enrich the university."
