“Every Wednesday, overcome the challenges of job hunting with career seminars packed with practical information.”
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) is conducting a variety of career seminars to strengthen students' employability, providing significant support to students.
Under the name 'Keunsaram DREAM Seminar', the weekly Wednesday series, held since March, features vivid accounts about employment from prominent figures in society as well as successful alumni and human resources officers.
In addition to diverse talks, a range of practical lectures are offered to assist students with job seeking, including image-making and interview-speaking workshops, industry-specific employment strategy seminars, and sessions on how to handle different interview formats.
The 'Keunsaram DREAM Seminar', which began on March 21 with a lecture on global employment strategies titled 'Cultivating My Vision with China', reflected students' strong enthusiasm for employment; more than 150 students filled the seats.
At the seminar on March 28, Minhyung Kim, a graduate of the Department of Law, delivered an energetic talk titled 'This Is How I Got Hired Without TOEIC!', sharing practical job-hunting know-how from a senior and receiving a strong response.
On April 4, a 'Financial Sector Employment Seminar' is scheduled to be held, and it is expected to provide valuable information for students preparing for careers in the financial industry.
Kang Seongil, a fourth-year student in the Department of Chinese Language & Literature who attended the first lecture on March 21, said, “The weekly career seminars that started this year offer more than lectures; their great advantage is that they let students hear diverse voices from the employment field firsthand. I am considering employment in China based on my major, and it was a very beneficial session because I could hear solid information and practical job-hunting know-how.”
Lee Gwi-jae, Director of the Career Support Headquarters, said, “The weekly Wednesday career seminars introduced this year are intended to enhance students' employability by bringing the vivid, on-the-job experiences of experts across various fields and successful alumni. Through these diverse seminars, we hope lower-year students can establish life visions and upper-year students can gain many opportunities to manage their careers in preparation for employment.”
