“I hope our alma mater, which is growing into a prestigious university representing Korea, can confidently compete with the world’s leading universities.”
A steady stream of development funds aiming to enhance our university’s competitiveness is being received.
Alumni of the Medical School’s Department of Radiology and Professor Emeritus Heo Sam-nam, who retired on February 29 of this year, consecutively donated development funds on March 9 asking they be used to strengthen the university’s competitiveness.
The Medical School Department of Radiology alumni who donated development funds that day were five people: Moon Mu-chang, Director of Hyundai Radiology Clinic; Yang Seung-mun, Director of Iksan Central Radiology Clinic; Oh Jong-hyun, Director of Uju Radiology Clinic; Jo Ho-je, Director of Seoul Ansan Radiology Clinic; and Hwang Seung-bae, Professor in the Medical School’s Department of Radiology at our university.
They explained that they were deeply moved by the alma mater’s recent remarkable development and, joining their hearts as alumni, decided to donate to the development fund.
Mun Mu-chang, who attended the donation ceremony, said, “Having witnessed the alma mater’s remarkable recent progress, including ranking sixth among domestic comprehensive universities in the 2010 World University Rankings, alumni have united in their desire to further enhance the university’s competitiveness. I hope this will serve as a small contribution to the university’s continued development.”

At the donation ceremony, Professor Heo said, “Although I am leaving the university I have loved upon reaching retirement, Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) is a place where my passion and sweat remain. I hope this fund will serve as a valuable foundation for the development of the Department of Animal Material Engineering.”
In response, President Seo Geoseok said, “On behalf of the university community, I sincerely thank you for your many contributions to the university’s development. We will not forget the precious support you have given and will strive to further enhance the university’s competitiveness.”
