Our university's Medical School (hereinafter, the Medical School) has received accreditation recognizing that its dental education is outstanding nationwide.

The Medical School announced that it received a four-year accreditation after being rated 'Excellent' in the curriculum, student, and faculty categories in the basic dental education accreditation evaluation conducted by the Korea Dental Education Evaluation Institute.

The dental education accreditation system assesses whether domestic dental colleges and Medical Schools have educational programs and management systems to train high-quality dentists. This evaluation demonstrated that the Medical School's curriculum and related aspects are of very high quality.

Graduates of universities that do not obtain dental education accreditation will, under the Medical Service Act amended this February, be ineligible to sit the national licensing examination after a five-year grace period.

Song Gwang-yeop, Dean of the Medical School, said, 'This dental education accreditation recognizes that our Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has an outstanding system for training dentists nationwide,' and added, 'We will redouble our efforts to ensure that we secure the nation's top competitiveness in student education.'
