"If it helps students obtain good employment, we will go anywhere."

Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has recently been proactively visiting companies and arranging opportunities to present the strengths of the university and its students. These efforts are expected to have a significant effect on strengthening students' employability.

President Seo Geo-seok and Vice-President Shin Hyo-geun, along with senior officials from the University Headquarters and Kim Dong-won, Dean of the College of Engineering, and department heads, visited the Doosan Infracore Gunsan Plant at 2:30 p.m. on February 28 and held a meeting with President Lee O-gyu, Executive Vice President Shin O-sik, and other executives.

At the meeting, the program included an introduction to Doosan Infracore, viewing JBNU's promotional video, and a factory tour. Through the discussion with the executives, they highlighted JBNU's recent strong competitiveness and students' achievements.

JBNU not only undertook this visit but also directly visited the 세이베스틸 Gunsan Plant on February 9 to promote its strengths. On February 22, it held a meeting in Seoul inviting leading domestic companies, providing opportunities to present the university's and students' outstanding achievements to major corporations such as Korean Air, STX, LG Display, and Hanwha.

The reason JBNU is directly visiting major companies is ultimately to enhance students' employability. President Seo Geo-seok and other senior officials are personally taking action to convey the university's true strengths—strengths that have not been fully recognized by companies despite their high competitiveness—in order to boost students' employment prospects.

President Seo said, "JBNU recently ranked sixth among domestic comprehensive universities in global university rankings, and although our students are highly competitive, major domestic companies do not seem well aware of this. That is why we are taking the initiative to convey our true strengths directly," and he added, "We will continue to inform more companies about the excellence of JBNU students and strive to help them secure more positions at leading companies."
