This year, JBNU's female ROTC cadets, selected for the first time, are taking their first formal steps.

JBNU held the 50th ROTC commissioning ceremony, the 51st promotion, and the 52nd induction ceremony at Jinsudang Gain Hall on February 22 at 3:00 PM.

At the event, five students, including Park Eun-hye (Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, second-year), who was selected as the first female ROTC cadet in JBNU's history, participated in the induction ceremony. From this year, they will receive the same varied training as male cadets and, upon graduation, will be commissioned as officers (second lieutenants).

At the induction ceremony, Park Eun-hye, an ROTC cadet (Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, third-year), said, "As the first female ROTC, I feel burdened and worried, but I am even more excited because I can finally begin what I truly want to do in earnest," adding, "I will carry the pride of being JBNU's first female ROTC and live and serve with sincerity and integrity."

President Seo Geoseok said, "You are true leaders who will lead our society in the future, so even when you enter society as military officers, I hope you will fulfill your responsibilities as proud members of JBNU," and added, "I pray that the future of the ROTC officers being commissioned today and the cadets being promoted and inducted will be filled with blessings."
