Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), unusually among universities nationwide, invited heads of human resources from leading domestic companies and held a roundtable that received a strong response from senior corporate representatives.

The roundtable, held at 5:30 p.m. on February 20 at the Emerald Hall of the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul, aimed to introduce JBNU's excellence to HR leaders of major companies, broaden employment opportunities for students, and improve the quality of employment outcomes.

It was evaluated that the event revealed JBNU's true strengths to major companies and served as an opportunity to significantly contribute to enhancing students' employability and revitalizing industry–university collaboration with major domestic companies.

The roundtable was attended by approximately 120 people, including executives from leading domestic companies such as Korean Air, STX, LG Display, and Hanwha, as well as JBNU administrators. Presentations described JBNU's recent major achievements and the strong competitiveness of its students.

President Seo Geoseok said, 'Although JBNU has recently ranked sixth among domestic comprehensive universities in global university evaluations and thus possesses high competitiveness, it seems that major companies are not well aware of this. We organized this event to publicize JBNU's excellence,' and added, 'We will continue to hold briefings for companies to widely publicize the strengths of JBNU and its graduates to large corporations so that we can raise students' employment competitiveness.'

Meanwhile, at the roundtable, Eom Jun-ha, President of the Korea HRD Association, delivered a special lecture on 'HR Trend Directions for 2012', providing an opportunity to reflect on the importance of human resource development.
