Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) G-Lamp Project Group is convening leading domestic and international scholars in basic science to expand international collaborative research in the fields of materials and energy.

JBNU G-Lamp Project Group announced that it will hold the 'Second International Basic Science Outcomes Forum' on the 29th at the JBNU Jinsudang 77th Anniversary Memorial Hall. The forum builds on the expanded network of leading researchers from the first International Basic Science Outcomes Forum held in February last year and will further broaden the sharing of basic science outcomes.

The JBNU G-Lamp Project Group plans to expand opportunities for exchange among prominent domestic and international researchers centered on the Materials and Energy Basic Science Research Institute, a priority-theme research institute, and to establish a foundation for expanding international collaborative research that will lead the materials and energy fields.

World-renowned scholars will participate in the forum to share the latest research trends. Professor Dmitri V. Talapin of the University of Chicago (USA) will present on 'Breakthrough Synthesis Research of Semiconductor Quantum Materials in Molten Salts,' and Professor Acep Purqon of Bandung Institute of Technology (Indonesia) will introduce 'A Computational Study of the Probability Density Function of the Electromagnetic Optical Properties of Rare‑Earth‑Doped Gallium Nitride for Clean Energy Applications.'

Domestic speakers include Professor Donghyun Kim, director of the priority-theme research institute (Director of the Advanced Basic Science Convergence Research Institute) at Chungbuk National University, who will share operational cases on the management of Chungbuk National University's priority-theme research institute and the latest trends in magnetism research. Through this, discussions are expected on the importance and future directions of basic science research, including the promotion of joint programs among project groups.

In particular, at this forum 28 researchers participating in the G-Lamp Project will share the research projects they are currently conducting, showcasing JBNU's research capabilities while assessing the potential for expanding international collaborative research. Among them, Professor Jimin Yang (Department of Molecular Biology, JBNU) and numerous other researchers will present their research outcomes and planned directions.

Kim Hee-sun, director of the JBNU G-Lamp Project Group, said, 'We are very pleased to hold the second outcomes forum following the previous international outcomes forum. We expect this forum to maximize academic exchange among domestic and international basic science researchers and to serve as a new turning point for international collaborative research.'
