Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Department of Resource Engineering alumnus Ko Jae-seop, CEO of Kangkyung Solarpam Two Co., Ltd. (Chairman of the Mirae Talent Education Promotion Foundation), donated a development fund of 10 million won to be used to support his juniors' academic pursuits.
On the 19th, JBNU invited CEO Ko and held a donation ceremony attended by President Yang O-bong and other senior university officials. The university presented Mr. Ko with a commemorative plaque in appreciation of his donation.
While managing his companies, Mr. Ko has taken the lead in regional development and educational service as an alumnus of JBNU. He has led solar energy power generation and multi-family housing development projects, and has also devoted himself to local educational service through the Mirae Talent Education Promotion Foundation.
Mr. Ko said, “I was deeply impressed by JBNU and President Yang O-bong's efforts to promote mutual development between the university and the region, which led me to decide on this donation,” adding, “I hope this donation reaches the juniors in the Department of Resource Engineering, my alma mater, and serves as a catalyst for our students to grow into talents who will serve as pillars of society.”
President Yang O-bong responded, “We are deeply grateful for Mr. Ko's noble intention in remembering his alma mater and showing care for his juniors. The donated fund will be used, in accordance with Mr. Ko's wishes, for scholarships for students in the Department of Resource Engineering and to improve their educational environment.”
Meanwhile, after graduating from the Department of Resource Engineering at JBNU, Mr. Ko served as CEO of Goodbread Co., Ltd. and currently manages Kangkyung Solarpam Two Co., Ltd., Eunyeon Ltd., and Daeseung L&U Ltd. He also practices community service through various activities, including serving as Vice-Chair of the Jeonju Regional Education Subcommittee for Juvenile Crime Prevention of the Ministry of Justice.
