■ Eligibility for Language Proficiency
※ Applicants should have at least one of the two conditions.
1) Natural Sciences/ Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine, Arts and Physical Education majors
-Applicants should be able to attend classes in Korean or English
(Language proficiency will be gauged through admissions document screening and interviews, please refer to the “Submission of Language Proficiency Certification” column in Page 1~4)
2) Humanities / Social Sciences majors
-Applicants must submit language proficiency certificate for either Korean or English,
depending on major
a) Korean (either one of the following qualifications)
- Level 3 or higher on the TOPIK (Test of proficiency in Korean)
- Completion of Level 3 or higher at the Korean Language Center of Chonbuk National
University or other universities in Korea.
b) English (either one of the following qualifications)
- Minimum score required for standard exams
TOEFL: PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80 or IELTS: 5.5, TEPS: 550
- Completion of secondary or higher education in countries where English is the native language. (Ex. U.S.A, Canada, England, Australia and Republic of South Africa)
■ Scholarship:
※ Scholarship for the first semester
a) Type 1 Scholarship (Whole Tuition Fee Exemption)
- Applicants that have TOPIK level 5 or higher
- Applicants that have attained the following scores or higher
*TOEFL: PBT 640, CBT 270, iBT 110 or IELTS: 8.0, TEPS: 830
- Applicants born from countries that use English as their native language
(ex: U.S.A, Canada, England, Australia and Republic of South Africa) that have
completed their entire education until secondary school in the relevant countries,
with bachelor’s or master’s degrees from universities that conduct their courses
in English.
b) Type 2 Scholarship (University Fee Exemption)
- Applicants that have TOPIK level 4 or
- Applicants that have attained the following scores or higher
*TOEFL: PBT 590, CBT 240, iBT 95, IELTS: 6.5, TEPS: 670
c) Type 3 Scholarship (50% of University Fee Exemption)
- Applicants that have TOPIK level 3 or
- Applicants that have attained the following scores or higher
*TOEFL: PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80, IELTS: 5.5, TEPS: 560
