UNU Global Seminar: Pohang Session 2007
Since 2003, Korea has fully enjoyed hosting the UNU Global Seminar which offers students and young professionals a unique opportunity to better understand the global issues that are of great importance to the United Nations, its member states and their citizens. A diverse group of participants, as well as distinguished international scholars and practitioners, will engage in lively dialogue and active exchange of ideas and opinions. By bridging differences in the international community, the seminar aims to ensure a more peaceful and viable future.
The UNU Global Seminar: Pohang Session 2007 will feature two keynote lectures providing an overview of the seminar’s theme, followed by eight lectures addressing a range of global issues. In addition to attending lectures, participants will gather in small groups to discuss the lectures and prepare presentations to be given on the final day of the seminar. Other seminar activities include field trips to relevant institutions and sites. The Opening Ceremony and keynote lectures on 3 July will be open to the public.

- Requirements for Participation
The Seminar is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, irrespective of academic major or nationality. Since all lectures and discussions are delivered in English, a working knowledge of English is essential.
- Participation Fee
The participation fee is 170,000 Korean won (USD 170). It covers accommodations, meals, field trips and printed materials. Transportation costs to/from the Seminar location are not included.
- Certificate
Each participant will receive an official certificate upon successful completion of the Seminar.
- Application and Submission Deadline
A completed application form and a statement of motivation must be sent to the Korean National Commission for UNESCO via e-mail only to: globalseminar@unesco.or.kr, no later than 28 May (Monday).
- Notification of Selection:
Successful candidates will be notified by 31 May (Thursday).
