Prof. Yun is an individual with an illustrious career in academia and research. As a Professor of Chemical Engineering, he holds the positions of Director of the Research and Education Center (Brain Korea 21) for Semiconductor and Chemical Engineering, and Director of the Environmental Biotechnology National Research Laboratory at Jeonbuk National University in South Korea.
Furthermore, Prof. Yun has established EBTLers, Inc., where he serves as the founder and CEO. This company is dedicated to developing and bringing to market revolutionary environmentally-friendly solutions.
Prof. Yun earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Seogang University in 1994, followed by an M.S. (1996) and a Ph.D. (2000) in Biochemical Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology.
With nearly 20 years of experience in environmental biotechnology and biomaterials research, Prof. Yun's research interests span across a diverse range of topics such as biosorbents and biosorption processes, triggering natural purification of waters, and recovery of precious metals from electronic wastes.
Prof. Yun's extensive publication record includes over 250 papers, and his h-index on Google Scholar is 76. Additionally, Prof. Yun's innovative research has led to the invention of 30 patents, several of which have been successfully transferred to private companies.
